Immunity, allergy
In Ayurveda, there is a known theory about immunity under the name beej-bhumi. The name could be loosely translated as the seed and soil theory. According to this theory, the body represents the soil, while infections can be understood as the seed. If it is accumulated in the body AMA (endotoxins) and the ojas pathways do not work in the organism (the ojas pathways can be compared to the concept of the immune system of modern medicine), then the infection finds fertile ground for its further development. An infection, like a seed, can continue to germinate only under suitable conditions.
On the other hand, if digestion is strong and the ojas pathways are fully functional, then infection will not affect the body in the same way that seeds cannot thrive in infertile soil.
Immunity and Ayurvedic Medicine
In order for the immune system to function properly, according to Ayurveda, it is necessary to pay attention to the following principles of Ayurveda:
- build the ability to adapt to changes in seasons,
- maintain a well-functioning digestive fire and a functional entire digestive tract,
